ABOUT US

Elementag is the latest technology developed by Particular Materials, a nanotech startup based in Padova.

Through a proprietary continuous-flow process based on supercritical water, we manufacture laboratory-quality nanoparticles on an industrial scale. Our technology enables the synthesis of functional, customizable nanomaterials for applications including energy storage, catalysis, functional coatings, and beyond.

This flexible and scalable approach allows us to rapidly translate innovation from the lab to real industrial products. We work closely with industrial partners, research centers, and academic institutions to develop tailored solutions for each application.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

We are seeking a motivated Junior R&D Specialist to join our growing team and support laboratory and pilot-scale production activities.

In this role, you will contribute directly to our R&D and scale-up efforts by operating our synthesis plant and performing materials characterization using state-of-the-art analytical techniques.

This is a paid internship role. We plan to expand the team throughout 2026 and strong performance may lead to the internship being converted into a full-time position.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate our continuous-flow production line for nanoparticle synthesis
  • Perform post-processing of synthesized nanoparticles
  • Carry out materials characterization and quality control (XRD, XRF, DLS, UV-Vis)
  • Prepare nanoparticle dispersions in different matrices
  • Record and report process parameters and experimental results
  • Support the preparation of internal technical documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field
  • Hands-on experience in a chemistry or materials laboratory
  • Fluency in Italian and English
  • Strong curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Ability to work autonomously and responsibly
  • Comfortable working in a fast-changing startup environment

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with inorganic and/or organic synthesis
  • Experience with nanomaterials characterization techniques
  • Previous experience in an industrial context
