Job Title: Field Service Engineer

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Weir Minerals Europe is recruiting a Field Service Engineer to join one of the European Service & Aftermarket teams. As part of our Services department, the Service Engineer will work collaboratively with internal departments and external stakeholders to support business development, products sales, and aftermarket sales & services to ensure that customer requirements are met.

This position is ideal for individuals who have a strong aptitude for hands-on service work, combined with developing commercial activities and customer service on site.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide daily support to Italian Service Engineers, including on-site equipment rebuilds, emergency repairs, technical support, and commissioning Assist in compiling accurate data for the Warranty Process and produce technical reports Manage warehouse activities, including goods’ receipt, packing, and stock taking Support Italian Service Engineers and Sales Engineers in sales activities, offering spare parts and service exchange quotations Ensure the highest standards of customer service, addressing complaints, monitoring warranties, and developing on-site solutions Conduct equipment installation support, commissioning, and proactive field service visits to maintain customer relationships Deliver detailed equipment solution-based service reports using the mobile Field Service Management (FSM) platform and report new aftermarket business opportunities via the Salesforce platform Comply with all Service Operations Department and Company policies, procedures, and programs, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.

JOB KNOWLEDGE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Modern Apprenticeship, NVQ level 3 or Mechanical Engineering degree Mechanical technician with comminution maintenance experience or an Engineer working experience at a quarry, mine or process plant with rotating and comminution equipment Crushing, screening, conveying or machining/fabrication/welding/cutting background Good command of the local language and English (both oral and written) Valid driver’s license is essential Mechanical / Electrical background.
