JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Global Pharmaceutical Technical Expert supports the Business Development team by providing technical guidance and helping to developing proposals with appropriate fee structures. The Director will also support marketing activities that increase brand awareness of Adare’s technologies and capabilities within the pharmaceutical community. Additionally, will be responsible for scouting out and partnering with cross functional teams to integrate new pharmaceutical development technologies to expand Adare's portfolio.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists BD for all potential business opportunities that support the Company’s product development objectives
  • Participates in the evaluation process for new acquisitions and product development, and is involved in due diligences to provide scientific expertise
  • Support prospecting and lead technical discussions with potential clients on CDO and CMO project opportunities
  • Work with the global head of R&D to expand Adare’s internal R&D capabilities
  • Actively participates in scientific and business events, conferences as speaker, presenting technologies and capabilities
  • Assists in the integration processes for acquired technologies
  • Develops co-development proposals for Europe
  • Provides technical expertise to convert business development leads into co-development deals
  • Shares knowledge of Adare’s technologies and capabilities within the scientific and business community by providing scientific support & strategic input to Marketing
  • Actively participates in scientific & business events, conferences as speaker, presenting Adare technologies and capabilities
  • Generates development fees via co-development deals for Europe
  • Selects, manages and develops business relationship with most appropriate partners to ensure adherence to Industry best practices, ensures industry-best development times with commercially attractive and effective formulations at a competitive cost.
  • Conducts market intelligence surveillance to be aware of new best practices in the industry in order to stay in front of the competition
  • Provides strategic input to business development and support Market Access
  • Interfaces with internal and external clients in project proposal meetings
  • Provides input on the technical feasibility and resources required of the project
  • Trains Commercial functions with the focus on BD on Adare’s technology platforms as necessary
  • Maintains current technical and regulatory knowledge
  • Participates in the development and implementation of methods, procedures and regulations necessary for the smooth operation of the business.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree from a four-year accredited university or college (PhD preferred); plus at least 10 years of pharmaceutical development and processing experience required.
  • Willing to hire at the Sr. Director level for appropriately experienced candidates.
  • Broad knowledge and extensive experience in pharmaceutics, biopharmaceutics or processing technologies product development
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical operations, including tableting, particle coating, encapsulation, fluid bed operation and microencapsulation
  • Knowledge of cGMP's, FDA, DEA, EMA, OSHA and equivalent regulations
  • Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on controversial or complex topics to senior management, public groups, and/or boards of directors
  • Ability to define problems and create efficient solutions
  • Ability to effectively interface with Manufacturing, R&D, Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, management personnel, customers, outside vendors, suppliers, consultants and government agencies
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to accommodate up to 40% travel.
