The purpose of this position is to provide high-quality technical support and services for all electrical maintenance works. This position is also required to oversee contractor work to ensure compliance with safe work practices, keep all maintenance service records for reporting purposes, resolve any emerging/recurring mechanical issues with sustainable solutions and to provide work status updates to stakeholders through relevant work management tools in a timely manner. Reporting Line: The position reports to the Principal Technical Officer under routine supervision Supervisory Responsibilities: Not applicable Financial Delegation: Not applicable Budget Responsibilities: Not applicable KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Perform troubleshooting and maintenance works as assigned in a safe and timely manner for all mechanical services such as air conditioning and mechanical ventilation (ACMV), cold water system, sanitary and any other mechanical-related services. 2. Monitor maintenance and repair work carried out by contractors to ensure quality and compliance with safe work practices at all times. 3. Report to supervisor any emerging/recurring mechanical issues in a timely manner and work with supervisor for long term and sustainable solutions. 4. Ensure timely communication in work management tools (Helpdesk, Asana, Google Workspace, etc.). 5. Maintain and organise all maintenance service records for reporting purposes. KEY SELECTION CRITERIA Education/Qualifications The appointee will have:

  1. Tertiary or technical qualifications, and/or substantial work experience in maintenance or technical fields.
  2. Diploma/equivalent tertiary education in maintenance/technical support or equivalent combinations of relevant experience and/or training.
Knowledge and Skills
  1. Demonstrated knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, drawings, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
  2. Ability to follow occupational safety regulations and compliance requirements.
  3. Basic written and verbal communication skills including the ability to interact with a diverse range of stakeholders
  4. Experience in the use of digital technology, including online platforms for collaboration and work management.
  5. Possess a positive mindset and an energetic personality, eager to expand knowledge and skills.
  6. Ability to prioritise tasks, work effectively under pressure and achieve goals within established timeframes
OTHER JOB RELATED INFORMATION 1. To perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned to contribute to the overall success of Facilities Management 2. May be required to work after office hours, during weekends and public holidays in support of University events, functions, power shutdowns, breakdown maintenance works, and emergency works. 3. There may be peak periods of work during which taking of leave may be restricted. 4. Travel to other campuses of the university may be required. 5. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.
