At Belmond we look for effortlessly engaging characters, whose personality, humour and charm shine through, creating a culture for unscripted and instinctive service and genuine human connection.
For the next season, we are looking for a Sous Chef to join the team at our refined Ristorante La Terrazza or at the new Pool Grill being relaunched next year.
He/she reports to the Executive Chef.Main duties & responsibilities:
- Assisting the Executive Chef in managing the kitchen brigade and in creating and preparing menus
- Coordinating food production and controlling food quality, taste and presentation of dishes
- Ensuring adherence to all health, safety and security procedures
- Collaborating with all F&B departments: Restaurant, Banqueting, Room Service, Bar
- Compliance with quality and service standards
Requirements:
Competencies required:
- Effective communication, emotional intelligence and adaptability
- Strong leadership skills
- Global perspective: treat one another with respect and inclusiveness regardless of position, level or background
- Flexibility regarding hours is essential, including willingness to work weekends, holidays and evenings
- Ability to work under pressure
- Strong motivation and passion for the job with the ability to adapt to a dynamic and challenging environment
Other requirements:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in the same role in a fine dining restaurant
- Fluent in Italian. Basic level of English preferred
- Outstanding leadership skills
- Flexibility and excellent efficiency in working under pressure
