About the role
Scope
- The Legal Director Southern Europe and two senior Market Counsels offer legal guidance and leadership to key partners in the Southern Europe market.
- The Counsel Italy and France, under the Legal Director Southern Europe, focus on providing support for legal matters in Italy and France.
- The Legal Counsel must possess professionalism, integrity, analytical skills, and experience in various legal areas such as commercial contracts, consumer and marketing laws, data privacy, and competition law.
- Key responsibilities include providing legal advice, supporting with presentations and training sessions, and collaborating with different teams across Southern Europe.
- Key partners include the Legal Director Southern Europe, Market Counsels, Marketing Team, Commercial Teams in Italy and France, and Revenue and Category Growth team.

The Legal function aims to support the growth and reputation of Diageo while upholding business conduct standards.

The Diageo Southern Europe market includes Spain, Portugal, France, Italy, and Greece. The legal and regulatory landscape in France and Italy presents challenges due to distribution, sales, and marketing regulations, which necessitate strong legal support.
The Legal Counsel will play a vital role in supporting the Southern Europe market growth strategy, particularly in Italy and France, by providing efficient legal solutions and risk management.
- Support legal matters, commercial contracts, and marketing agreements.
- Advise on consumer and customer marketing activities, innovation launches, and compliance.
- Conduct legal research, monitor regulatory changes, and support team knowledge development.
- Collaborate with global legal teams on relevant initiatives.

About you
Requirements
- Qualified Lawyer in the EU with 2-4 years of commercial legal experience.
- Familiarity with legal issues in the commercial business sector in Italy and/or France.
- Languages: Proficient in English, knowledge of Italian and French beneficial.
