Sales Support Specialist

This is a position with grade 13 and reports to the Sales Support Manager.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Create and complete bids/estimations/quotations based on customer specifications or requirements to achieve market competitiveness and high margins for the Company.
  • Maintain and improve the balance between all ABB units and customers in the area of responsibility.
  • Formulate competitive bids/estimates/quotations, considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial considerations.
  • Ensure tenders are well documented in a timely manner with appropriate detail, including full and accurate costs.
  • Manage the preparation of technical, financial, and project management aspects of the bid/estimate/quotation.
  • Ensure timely inputs for editing activities according to established quality procedures.
  • Manage external services to support bid/estimation preparation.
  • Collect and archive documentation regarding the offer/order and record assumptions and decisions during development.
  • Regularly report the status of bids/estimates/quotations and analyze reasons for tenders being lost or won.
  • Identify potential risks in bids, quotations, and estimates, and participate in the Risk Review process.
  • Establish and maintain effective customer relationships to understand customer needs and ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Provide technical support to Sales Managers during technical meetings with customers.
  • Identify potential vendors for equipment and materials and evaluate supplier offers.

Qualifications for the role:

  • Skilled in the industrial automation sector with a background in process analytical systems.
  • 5 or more years of experience in a similar role managing projects involving analytical systems.
  • Passionate about customer orientation and enjoys teamwork.
  • Degree in Environmental, Process, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or Industrial Chemistry.
  • Fluent in Italian and English.
  • Availability for short to medium-term travel (1 day to 2-3 weeks) within the national territory and abroad.
