AI Technology Lead

Hitachi Energy is seeking a highly skilled and visionary AI Technology Lead to serve as the authority for AI technologies. In this role, you will shape the technical direction of AI adoption, ensuring that solutions are architected responsibly, aligned with governance frameworks, and integrated into our global Azure landscape. You will act as a trusted advisor and thought leader, bridging business and technology, influencing enterprise strategy, and ensuring AI becomes a scalable, secure, and value-generating capability across the organization. A critical expectation of this role is to stay at the forefront of AI advancements, experiment with emerging technologies, and productize them for enterprise readiness. This opportunity to develop AI landscape and AI strategy How You Will Make An Impact Strategic AI Leadership: Define and evolve the enterprise technical strategy for AI adoption on Azure. Act as the primary technical authority for AI across IT and business domains. Provide leadership and guidance to architects, engineers, and stakeholders. Innovation & Technology Scouting: Continuously monitor the AI technology landscape and identify opportunities relevant to the enterprise. Experiment with new AI tools, frameworks, and methods to assess feasibility and value. Translate validated innovations into productized, enterprise-ready capabilities. Enterprise Integration & Technical Alignment: Align AI technologies with enterprise architecture, data platforms, and cloud strategy on Azure. Collaborate with global business and IT stakeholders to translate strategic priorities into sustainable AI capabilities. Contribute to technical roadmaps, reference architectures, and cross-domain frameworks. Technical Excellence: Maintain hands‑on expertise in AI / ML engineering, MLOps, and deployment practices to validate and guide enterprise standards. Evaluate Azure-native AI / ML services, tools, and pipelines for scalability and reliability. Promote technical best practices, code quality, and architecture reviews as a thought leader. Your Background Education & Experience: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 12+ years of experience in technical roles, with at least 5 years focused on AI / ML solution development in enterprise contexts. Tech experience: Recognized expertise in setting technical direction and guiding large‑scale AI adoption on Azure. Strong programming background in Python and proficiency with AI / ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face). Demonstrated experience with Azure AI / ML services (Azure Machine Learning, Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, etc.) and MLOps. Soft skills: Excellent communication and influencing skills across technical and executive audiences.
