Our group is at the center of the action, building systems that enable sellers to fulfill orders leveraging Amazon’s vast network of warehouses.You'll be leading development teams that are building highly distributed systems to enable merchants to deliver orders to their customers with incredible speed.ResponsibilitiesLead development teams building highly distributed systems to enable merchants to deliver orders with speed.Drive the development of systems that enable sellers to leverage Amazon’s fulfillment capabilities.Hire and develop top talent, creating an environment that motivates people to thrive in their expertise and deliver results.Define and monitor metrics to improve performance and reduce cost.Prepare executive-level communications to share tactical plans, estimates, justify investment, and highlight product performance.Basic Qualifications3+ years of engineering team management experience7+ years of engineering experienceKnowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software / hardware / networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operationsExperience partnering with product or program management teamsExperience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systemsBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentPreferred QualificationsExperience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategyExperience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring / coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineersOur inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
