HT has the mission of conducting cutting-edge research but also to translate innovation into methods and tools available to the entire National scientific community. To this end, HT is opening National Facilities that will provide state-of-the-art research infrastructure for Structural Biology, Light Imaging, Genomics, Genome Engineering, and Data Handling and Analysis. Overview - National Facility for Light Imaging The National Facility for Light Imaging offers services related to imaging, sample preparation, functional imaging and cell sorting. The mission of the facility is to support science: to reach this goal, the facility and its team are available to internal and external users, providing support for designing experiments, acquiring data on the facility's cutting-edge scientific instruments, offering training and development of new protocols and technologies. The Flow Cytometry IU offers full-service sorting & cloning of rare cellular populations, particle enrichment, and high purity bulk sorts. The unit also offers Analysis Services including combined scalar and image capabilities, and advice in experimental design and training. The role Human Technopole is looking for a Senior Technician – Flow Cytometry Unit that will specifically work on flow cytometry technologies and techniques, providing support to Human Technopole researchers, research projects and extramural projects selected based on merit by the Standing Independent Evaluation Comittee, fullfilling the mandate of the Human Technopole's National Facilities (HT-NF) effort. Key tasks and responsibilities: Provide technical support and hands-on cell sorting expertise to ensure highly purified and viable cell recovery. Ensure that all experimental controls are present prior to comencing a cell sorting procedure. Ensure that post-sorting purity and viability QC is performed and reported to the researchers.Perform sample preparation, immunostaining and acquisition at the flow cytometry analyzer following the established SOPs and ensure QC of the procedures.Provide regular maintenance support. Ensure that the functionality of all instruments is constantly maintained. Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with instrumentation systems, utilizing various testing and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve problems.Communicate in a timely and precise manner instrument malfunctions and any collected diagnostic information to the manufacturer to establish immediate assistance.Collaborate with the instrument manufacturer service and operations teams to provide technical support and guidance on instrumentation-related issues.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine new instrumentation requirements and specifications for new projects or modifications to existing systems.Evaluate the suitability of different instrumentation options and recommend the most relevant, efficient and cost-effective solutions.General laboratory organization including equipment maintenance, ordering and monitoring of laboratory supplies.Ensure that quality and safety policies and standards in the laboratory are followed.Mandatory requirements: Bachelor's and/or electronics degree and/or training.10 or more years of experience in flow cytometry performing cell sorting, sample preparation and acquisition, data analysis and troubleshooting activities.Hands-on experience and working knowledge of diverse flow cytometry equipment (cell sorters and analyzers), and their electronic components and fluidics systems.Proficiency in using advanced diagnostic tools and techniquesGood oral and written communication skills in Italian and English Preferential requirements: Ability to manage installation and commissioning of complex instrumentation systems.Experience in conducting inspections of instrumentation systems.Knowledge of advancements in flow cytometry instrumentation. Organizational and social skills: Ability to coordinate laboratory work priorities.Ability to carry on and execute small projects independently.Attention to detail and precision in work.Teamwork attitude.
