Technical Development Manager

We are looking for a new colleague to strengthen our Italian team, who will take the lead in determining the optimal technical design for all our real estate developments in close cooperation with the commercial teams and the customer, tendering of the construction works and start-to-end management of the technical execution.

What will the role involve?

More concretely, this means you will get the opportunity:

- Management of various future real estate development projects from initial customer inquiry until completion and hand-over;
- Land investigation (greenfield/brownfield) / due diligence process (technical and environmental), suitability of the plot for the project, zoning compatibility, infrastructure works, power delivery on site, ;
- Preparation of all technical documentation (specifications, design and build timeline, options) and cost estimates to be used during the commercial process. This will also involve meetings with senior customers and advising these customers on the most suited technical solution for their project;
- Contractor’s tendering and contracts negotiation of development projects back-to-back with commitments and liability raised from the lease / sales agreement;
- Project’s monitoring and coordination of experts / suppliers during execution phase to ensure costs control, risk reduction, quality, timing and ultimately customer’s satisfaction;
- Close collaboration and internal coordination of projects with all departments (business development, innovation, energy, legal, transactions ) involved;
- Technical support to the transaction and asset management teams where required;
- Ensure that our buildings are in line with the highest sustainability features available in the local market

Do you recognize yourself?
- Holding an engineering Master degree (preferably civil or industrial engineer) or equivalent based on experience;
- Demonstrated experience of at least five years in managing construction project developments - international experience is an asset, command of energy infrastructure development is a plus
- Combine technical expertise and strong project management skills, ability to coordinate and work on several projects simultaneously with a commercial feeling;
- Strongly developed sense of responsibility, with a high focus on financial results, risk management, quality, anticipation, organization and planning;
- Collaborative team player who is able to work independently;
- Learning mindset
- Being able to build up a relationship and negotiate with people from different sectors and on different levels from operational to C- level (construction managers, real-estate managers, contractors, project managers, local authorities);
- Fluent in English and Italian
