We are looking for a **Head of Logistics Engineering & Operation **to join our headquarters at Sant’Agata Bolognese (BO), reporting directly to the **Head of Logistics.**
You will be responsible for design and optimization of materials logistics flows and logistic areas layout and to define logistics concept from suppliers to point of use (including
warehouse and in house processes, systems and equipment). You will be responsible for Product and Structure Investments, Planning costs, Project costs, Logistic Service Provider costs and for line feeding process design and implementation, to control,
manage and steer inhouse processes and systems with LSP. Moreover, you will be responsible for logistic assets, space demand, space availability in addition to the logistics equipment already installed, participation to Interfunctional Simultaneus Engineering (SET) and PJT Team department referent.
You will be responsible for the following processes:
- Logistics materials flows from suppliers to point of use (logistics processes, systems, equipments)
- Definition of strategic long term space demand and logistic assets plan
- Design and optimization of logistic areas layout into the plants and externally located
- Auditing of logistics processes to ensure consistency with Group logistics processes.
- Special containers design and definition, packaging instructions and specification to suppliers during the start-up phase and life cycle
- Logistics processes design and control over logistic service provider (e.g. inhouse, warehousing, line feeding processes and systems)
- Continuous improvement through benchmarking within VW Group
- Budget and long-term planning for Product and Structure Investments, Planung costs, Project costs
- Defining and implementation of innovation technologies (AGV, e-Label, Apps, automated warehouse) design, tendering and suppliers qualification
- Application of safety rules by the LSP (inspections, walkaround, certifications interferences)
- LSP tendering, including technical specifications
- Continuous improvements and optimization of inhouse logistics in terms of productivity, cost, inventories (Parts and Containers) quality of supply and security of supply
- Safety procedures, instructions deployments and implementations
- Management of dangerous goods handling and storage
**About you**
- University Degree, Engineering as a plus.
- At least 10/15 years of experience in Automotive Logistic processes / Supply chain
- Experience in Purchasing/Procurement as a plus
- Experience WCM/Production as a plus
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing /Continuous improvement as a plus
- Experience in Unions Relationship as a plus
- People Management
- Strong knowledge of logistic processes and production planning
- Warehousing management (Inbound / Outbound)
- Knowledge on logistic equipment and tools
- Logistics innovation/digitalization
- Negotiations skills
- Safety rules
- High knowledge of project timing management
- Fluent English, Italian and German will be considered a plus
- Problem solving attitude in terms of action and reaction in a very high complex environment
