Public Sector Business Development Lead

**Our Purpose**:
The Business Development Lead role shall be to work with the Local Markets to identify and shape Public Sector customer proposals to ensure success. The role will be a market facing role that aligns closely with the local Public Sector teams to ensure a deep understanding of the customer’s business challenges and the creation of commercial strategies necessary for success in the segment. The Business Development role will develop new business pipeline by building profile and relationships with the markets to identify new opportunities in this high growth segment.
You will need to be intellectually & technically curious with a genuine passion for finding and implementing innovative solutions that will assist our clients with large scale Group product and solution propositions. You will evangelise Vodafone’s Group product and solution portfolios, adding support and coaching to complex deal qualification, negotiation & closure, be the voice of the customer internally at Vodafone and collate market insight, and promote awareness of our propositions externally via conducting product demonstrations, delivering talks, presentations, speaking at conferences industry events and seminars as the Vodafone Business advocate.

**Key accountabilities and decision ownership**:

- Business Development execution: Support customer bids with specific focus on the opportunity shaping and business development for opportunities by the Public Sector Local Markets team
- Be a key part of the team that supports existing Public Sector customer to drive the growth of Group product and solutions in [Italy, Spain] and selected Cluster markets
- Lead campaigns into both existing and new customers to develop new business opportunities for Group product and solutions
- Generate new leads, identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select the deals in line with strategies, and lead and facilitate pitch logistics
- Maintain and share professional knowledge and understanding of Group product and solutions through education, networking, events, and presentations
- Demonstrate the #spirit behaviours in all aspects of the role with a keen focus on customer loyalty

**Core competencies, knowledge and experience**:

- ** Commercial Acumen in the B2B Environment**:Strong commercial acumen within the B2B environment and public sector procurement practices to enable effective targeting on Group product and solutions
- **Sales Cycle & budgeting knowledge**:Good understanding of Vodafone sales planning processes and of relevant budgeting processes
- ** Experience of working within complex, matrix environment**:Experience of working with local markets and/or group functions to collectively deliver successful outcomes
- **Experience of managing complex, sales and business engagements cycles**: Experience of working with long-term deal structuring and shaping business opportunities
- Ability to quickly understand and translate customer information into formal templates
- Operate at a senior market and customer level to proactively influence customers multi-year strategy in line with Vodafone Business Group & Solutions goals

**Must have technical / professional qualifications**:

- 5 years in a technical sales environment
- Technical / Business degree/accreditations helpful
