About the Role

As an Operations Manager at Amazon Italia Logistica S.R.L., you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Fulfilment Centres. You will be responsible for leading a team of Area Managers and developing strategies to improve operational efficiency, quality, and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop a team of Area Managers to achieve business objectives.
  • Lead operational teams on a shift, address issues, and positively impact site performance.
  • Analyse shift performance against relevant business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence.
  • Collaborate with other support teams, including HR, Finance, Health and Safety, and Security.
  • Design and deliver initiatives across sites to enhance operational performance.
A Day in the Life

You will lead shifts at one of our operational sites, serving as the key link between various teams, including finance, safety, and operations integration teams. Your day will involve meetings with different areas of the business, deep dives into performance and risk metrics, and preparation for varying levels of demand.

As a mentor and coach, you will support your team in achieving their full potential, providing leadership and guidance to help them become the best managers they can be.

Customer Fulfilment is the backbone of Amazon's business, handling over 1.5 million orders every day. Our team is the foundation of our operations, and we are constantly seeking ways to improve our services using emerging technology.

We are a dynamic team based in Fulfilment Centres, which are the heart of Amazon's fast-paced Operations network. Our centres are responsible for managing dynamic inventory and facilitating speedy deliveries around the clock.

We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds to join our team, offering opportunities for every skillset. Some team members work with physical products, while others analyse data to inform business decisions.

Requirements
  • A degree in a relevant field.
  • Relevant experience in successful people and stakeholder management.
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and intermediate proficiency in the local language.
  • Relevant experience in using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions.
  • Relevant experience in key areas of environments like production and supply chain or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, and Kaizen techniques.
  • Experience in a similar logistical working environment.
  • Relevant experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment.
