Drive Profitable Growth in Marine Underwriting

We are seeking a skilled Senior Marine Underwriter to join our team and drive profitable growth in Marine underwriting. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting a range of new and renewal business, using your proven relationship building skills to communicate risk appetite and our value proposition to brokers and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite new and renewal business in Marine, using your expertise to identify and mitigate risks.
  • Work closely with brokers to understand client needs and develop creative solutions to complex risks.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
  • Generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.
  • Collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines to target desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Set a high standard of customer service to brokers and clients, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to less-experienced underwriters.

Requirements:

  • Proven underwriting experience, with good knowledge of Marine.
  • Ability to analyze financial statements.
  • Strong communication, networking, and relationship building skills.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Customer and sales-oriented behaviors: motivated, tenacious, focused, technically skilled, proactive, and accountable.
