Senior Marine Underwriter

We are seeking a seasoned Marine Underwriter to join our team in Italy. As a Senior Marine Underwriter, you will play a key role in driving profitable growth in Marine by working on creative solutions for complex risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwrite a range of new and renewal business in Marine, utilizing your proven relationship building skills.
- Work closely with brokers to communicate risk appetite and our value proposition, and to understand deal structures, terms, and products that best meet clients' needs.
- Negotiate pricing, terms & conditions, and deal structure with brokers and clients.
- Generate new business by expanding your broker network, attending broker events, and building new relationships across the market.
- Collaborate with AIG Distribution, territory managers, and underwriters in other business lines to target desirable accounts and cross-selling opportunities.
- Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to less-experienced underwriters, and support them in building their broker network.
Requirements:
- Proven underwriting experience, with good knowledge of Marine.
- The ability to analyze financial statements.
- Strong communication, networking, and relationship building skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Customer and sales-oriented behaviors, including motivation, tenacity, focus, technical skill, proactivity, and accountability.
- An interest in mentoring and training, if you have not held these duties previously.
