Senior Events and Banqueting Manager

Belmond is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Events and Banqueting Manager to join our team at the Grand Hotel Timeo in Taormina, Sicily.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing events and banqueting operations in a 5-star hotel environment, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring seamless event execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage event logistics and operations, including coordinating with vendors and suppliers
- Assist the F&B Manager in creating the annual budget and ensuring revenue profit margin is controlled and protected
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate with departments to prepare for events
- Ensure events progress smoothly by following established procedures and collaborating with employees
- Manage group room blocks and meeting space for assigned groups
- Identify operational challenges and develop alternative solutions
- Improve customer service by integrating feedback and personal judgment into action plans
- Coordinate and control the Events team
- Support and coordinate with the Sales and Marketing Function
Requirements:
- Previous experience in similar and/or related fields in a 5-star hotel
- At least 2 years of experience at the same level
- Proficient in English language
- Additional languages desirable
- Typing skills, Windows XP, Word, Excel, Outlook, Microsoft Projects
- Familiar with local culture and governmental policies
- Ensures high standards of personal presentation and grooming
- Maintains strong, professional relationships with internal and external guests and relevant representatives
