Job Overview

We are seeking a Lead Automation Engineer to oversee all engineering functions associated with the Automation Scope of Medium and High Voltage Substations, including testing and commissioning processes.

You will ensure operational excellence by guaranteeing that engineering, testing, and commissioning tasks are carried out efficiently and economically, aligning with client expectations, contractual obligations, corporate policies, quality benchmarks, and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities


• Serve as the technical lead and design authority for engineering outputs across all relevant engineering fields;


• Manage all technical functions throughout the entire project lifecycle, including testing and commissioning;


• Collaborate closely with clients to develop and implement solutions, leveraging feedback to foster innovative enhancements and uphold high customer satisfaction levels;


• Partner with colleagues and engineers from various disciplines, sharing technical expertise and best practices across the HUB Europe Region;


• Develop foundational designs for substation automation systems, control, and protection, ensuring the detailed design aligns with the established base design;


• Assume responsibility for detailed design engineering, testing, or commissioning tasks as dictated by project requirements;


• Assist the Project Manager with cost estimations, claims related to project scope alterations, and assessing cost, time impacts, and risk factors;


• Provide technical specifications, financial data, and deliverables for sales proposals;


• Address complex technical challenges both remotely and on-site at domestic and international client locations;


• Ensure adherence to company health, safety, and environmental policies throughout the project.

Required Qualifications


• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic/Automation Engineering (or a related field);


• Over 5 years of experience in substation automation projects;


• Proficient knowledge of Control and Protection relays and solutions for High and Medium Voltage Substations;


• Familiarity with standard and industrial LAN networks;


• Understanding of industrial automation and electrical fields (PLC, RTU, SCADA).


• Proficiency in Italian and a good command of English (B2);


• Excellent communication skills, proactive attitude, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
