Electrical Engineer Job Description

About the Role

Hitachi Rail is seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Naples, Italy. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, integrating, and documenting electric design using computer-aided engineering tools.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and develop electrical systems for rail vehicles, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with other vehicle components.
  3. Analyze specifications and identify details to develop a working plan for customers.
  4. Define the conceptual solution and architecture of the Electrical System, based on requirements and vehicle configuration.
  5. Verify and trace requirements using DOORS.
  6. Support purchasing and industrial engineering departments during procurement and vehicle assembly phases.
  7. Support other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and customers throughout the product life cycle.

Requirements

  1. Proven electrical design experience in electromechanical industries, preferably in the railway domain.
  2. Excellent readiness of electrical schematic and drawings.
  3. Knowledge of computer-aided electrical engineering tools, preferably SEE Electrical.
  4. Knowledge of MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Visio, Access).
  5. Knowledge of electrical manufacturing processes.
  6. Commitment to working as part of a team.
  7. Problem-solving abilities.
  8. Attention to detail.
  9. Strong organizational and communication skills.
  10. Italian mother tongue is mandatory.
  11. English language (multi-cultural environment).

Education/Qualifications

Degree in Electrical/Electrotechnical Engineering;

Languages

Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory.
