Procurement Specialist

Main Responsibilities

As a key member of our global purchasing team, you will be responsible for the procurement of 2-4 purchasing group components for our location in Luzzara, Italy. Your scope will include several components of a material handling truck, ranging from simple to complex ones. You will work closely with an European purchasing team, our Head of Site Procurement, and an interdisciplinary team of Logistic, Quality, R&D, Production, and Sales.

Key Tasks
  • Act as a self-reliant and operational purchasing specialist for assigned components, assemblies, and solutions.
  • Conduct market analyses, request quotations, and lead negotiations with suppliers in terms of delivery, quality, and price.
  • Track supplier deliveries and initiate actions in case of deviations.
  • Manage and develop the supply base to achieve targets in delivery, quality, cost, and innovation.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with strategic suppliers, including contractual management.
  • Support the development and implementation of the Procurement Strategy and align the supplier portfolio with the Central Commodity Organization.
  • Support regional and global Procurement initiatives.
  • Participate in awarding processes, technical meetings with suppliers, and partnering industrialization processes.
  • Process and track technical changes for purchasing aspects.
  • Drive MCO, DTC, HKvoll activities at site.
  • Drive Make-or-Buy process and resulting outsourcing and insourcing activities.
  • Manage and mitigate site-related supply risk.
  • Act as an interface between suppliers and Quality, Logistic, and R&D in case of questions or discussions.
  • Manage crisis situations and support unforeseen supply failures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business.
  • Experience as a Buyer in Material Handling, Construction, Agriculture, Automotive Tier 1, or similarly demanding environments.
  • Strategic thinking and understanding of manufacturing processes and industry quality standards.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and SAP/R3 ERP knowledge.
  • Results-driven and able to drive projects self-reliant and successfully.
  • Team-oriented in a global purchasing team.
  • Good problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to travel within Europe.
  • Good English is mandatory, and a second language is an advantage.
