Role Overview

Arup is a global engineering and consulting firm seeking a Sustainability Intern to work on environmental and wellbeing certifications.

This role involves developing sustainable energy solutions through interdisciplinary cooperation with other Arup departments, supporting LEED/WELL design processes, and participating in site visits.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop sustainable energy solutions through collaboration with other departments.
  • Support LEED/WELL design processes and site visits.
  • Contribute to competition and early-stage design phases.
Requirements

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Master's degree in engineering or architecture or relevant fields.
  • Basic knowledge of building physics and understanding of main aspects of active/passive strategies.
  • Understanding of low carbon strategies for buildings and masterplans.
  • Understanding of circularity and environmental certifications.
  • Good level of English and Italian.
  • Proficiency in Office package programs and design software.
  • Systems thinking analytical capabilities.
  • Skills for working in multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:

  • Previous experience with environmental and wellbeing certifications.
  • Previous experience with HVAC systems and MEP engineering.
  • Embodied carbon tool expertise.
  • Revit proficiency.
  • Digital skills including data extraction and interoperability.
  • Second foreign language.
  • International study/work experience.
