Reporting Structure

Under the overarching direction of the FAO Sub-Regional Office for the Caribbean, and with the technical oversight of the Lead Technical Officer for the designated project, the Project Management Specialist will execute tasks to manage and ensure the quality and implementation of designated projects.

Technical Focus

The Project Management Specialist will extend specific support to technical officers in the management of projects by coordinating project activities as necessary among project execution partners. This role will also entail reporting on the advancement of project deliverables.

2) Report on the advancement of project deliverables.
3) Coordinate project activities as necessary among project execution partners.

Responsibilities and Duties


• Engage in the formulation of project documentation from initiation to closure, including planning documents and work plans.

• Develop comprehensive annual work and budget plans based on the approved overall work plan.

• Establish timelines for project activities outlined in the annual work plans to ensure timely completion of all tasks, adhering to FAO regulations.

• Compile project progress and financial reports in accordance with FAO and/or donor guidelines, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.

• Gather and maintain records on project deliverables.

• Facilitate ongoing communication with project execution partners to monitor project progress and the quality of deliverables.

• Participate in field visits to assess and evaluate the progress of project activities.

CANDIDATES WILL BE EVALUATED BASED ON THE FOLLOWING

Minimum Qualifications


• A bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences or a related field.

• A Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification or another recognized certification in Project Management.

• A minimum of five years of experience in project management, with extensive experience in the agriculture sector.

• Proficient working knowledge (level C) of English.

• Excellent communication abilities.

• Experience collaborating with diverse partners and working with both international and national experts to implement project activities.

• Prior work experience in the Caribbean is preferred.
