Position Overview:

The Project Contract Manager (PrCM) plays a vital role within the project team, collaborating closely with the Project Manager and essential project personnel. This position is responsible for providing strategic guidance and leadership in the development, execution, and management of contract and claim strategies, ensuring alignment with Alstom's business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to the Contract, Claims, and Insurance Management Manual (CCIM) and Alstom governance standards.
  • Prepare and disseminate the Contract Summary, ensuring it is regularly updated and communicated effectively.
  • Conduct thorough contract analysis to formulate and implement a robust Contract/Claim Management Strategy Plan.
  • Oversee the timely development of the Contract Data Requirement List (CDRL) by project team members, ensuring accurate communication and updates.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with contract obligations and track progress towards contractual milestones.
  • Facilitate the timely issuance of contractual notifications to customers and partners.
  • Establish and implement project-specific commercial procedures, focusing on correspondences, notifications, insurance, variation requests/orders, and claims documentation.
  • Maintain organized filing systems for correspondence with customers and partners, ensuring easy access.
  • Analyze incoming and outgoing correspondence to manage communications effectively.
  • Develop and implement project-specific processes for contract and claim management.
  • Adopt a pragmatic commercial approach based on contractual analysis to safeguard Alstom's interests.
  • Monitor and document claims and counterclaims, preparing all necessary documentation for negotiations.
  • Manage customer and partner requests for variations/change orders/extensions of time, ensuring follow-up to achieve closure.
  • Provide insightful advice on contractual and claims-related issues, aligning with business objectives.
  • Report on contract management and claims activities to project stakeholders, including Legal and Contract Management teams.
  • Deliver training on contract and claim management to key stakeholders across various departments.
  • Anticipate risks associated with contract management and propose effective counter-strategies.
  • Collaborate with Project Directors, Managers, Controllers, Engineering Managers, Sourcing Contract Managers, and Planning Managers to identify and mitigate risks while maximizing claim opportunities.
  • Provide reliable contractual and commercial analyses as required by management.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
