Job Summary

The Food Prep Worker Lead is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for assisting cooks, chefs, or food service managers in preparing ingredients for recipes and performing other food preparation and service tasks. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the work of others, ensuring efficient and effective food preparation and service.
  • Prepare a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes, adhering to food safety, handling, and sanitation procedures.
  • Set up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, trimming, and peeling food items, using a variety of utensils including knives.
  • Arrange, garnish, and portion food according to established guidelines, ensuring presentation and quality standards are met.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, and utensils, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, and co-workers.
  • Adhere to Aramark safety policies and procedures, including accurate food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ensure security of company assets and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated expertise in food prep or food service-related work, with knowledge of various food prep methods, accurate knife handling, and food safety regulations.
  • Exercise considerable judgment based on previous experience to solve problems and make sound decisions.
  • Must be able to acquire food safety certification and demonstrate basic math and counting skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
