Job Summary:

The Demi Pastry Chef de Partie is a key member of the pastry kitchen team at Milano Club Spa, responsible for assisting in the preparation and creation of pastries and desserts. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering exceptional dessert experiences.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the preparation and creation of pastries and desserts according to established recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards.
  2. Support the Pastry Chef de Partie and other members of the pastry kitchen team in the efficient operation of the assigned section or station.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned area, including proper storage of ingredients, cleaning of equipment, and adherence to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  4. Follow instructions and guidance from more senior pastry chefs in executing tasks and preparing pastries during service periods.
  5. Assist in the setup and breakdown of the pastry kitchen before and after service, ensuring that all equipment and utensils are properly cleaned and stored.
  6. Learn and develop pastry skills and techniques under the mentorship of more experienced chefs, striving to improve proficiency and efficiency.
  7. Assist in maintaining inventory levels of pastry ingredients and kitchen supplies, assisting with ordering and stock rotation as needed.
  8. Collaborate with other members of the pastry kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service, communicating effectively and supporting each other as required.
  9. Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines, including proper handling of equipment and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  10. Assist with administrative tasks such as inventory management, menu costing, and reporting as required by the leadership team.

Requirements:

  1. Pastry education or relevant training from a culinary school or apprenticeship program.
  2. Previous experience working in a kitchen environment, preferably in a similar role or as a kitchen assistant.
  3. Knowledge of one or more foreign languages is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Basic understanding of pastry techniques, baking methods, and dessert preparation procedures.
  2. Familiarity with kitchen equipment and tools used in the assigned section or station.
