Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will oversee the complete quality operations and be an integral member of the management team. Utilizing leadership skills and experience, the manager will foster a Quality Culture by ensuring and managing quality through systems, tools, and teams to meet client expectations while promoting sustainable practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the quality of all products and services, holding the final authority on the disposition of non-conforming materials and products received from suppliers or shipped to clients.
  • Guarantee adherence to all internal and external regulations, specifications, and standard operating procedures.
  • Implement, audit, and maintain the local Quality Management System while recommending enhancements.
  • Direct management focus on relevant metrics and actions based on those metrics across the organization, ensuring effective tracking of operational performance. Analyze quality metrics and conduct periodic reviews to assess results and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.
  • Lead the quality function, manage Mission Control, and actively engage in both internal and external audits, ensuring follow-up actions are taken. Monitor and enhance product and process efficiency through independent audits.
  • Allocate quality resources for Quality Operations promptly and drive the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process across all involved functions.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor quality personnel in alignment with the Leadership and Organizational Management (LOM) framework. Maintain a Succession Plan.
  • Influence the organization’s financial outcomes through quality process enhancements. Manage the Quality department budget and oversee related expenses and investments.

Competencies and Success Factors:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational and quality systems, with the ability to design and monitor quality and regulatory processes and metrics in a fast-paced, lean environment.
  • Proficient in modern Quality Assurance tools (e.g., QMS, APQP, PPAP, SPC, GDT, metrology, tool design) and lean manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to utilize and interpret project management tools, problem-solving techniques, and process improvement methodologies.
  • Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement methods to support continuous improvement across all organizational functions.
  • Skilled in both customer and supplier relations.
  • A proactive team player with a collaborative approach to implementing and maintaining operational disciplines; possesses excellent interpersonal skills.
  • A confident professional capable of resolving issues and challenging assumptions effectively.
  • Uphold the core values of safety and integrity, taking responsibility for actions while caring for colleagues and the organization.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Over 10 years of experience in various aspects of quality management, program, and project management.
  • More than 3 years of leadership experience with a focus on talent development.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 20% (domestic and international).
  • Experience in quality management, operations, lean manufacturing, and visual management.
  • ASQ Certification for Certified Quality Manager is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt is mandatory; Black Belt is preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Italian, both verbal and written.
