About the Role

We are seeking a talented Robotics Software Engineer to join our interdisciplinary team at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, Italy. As part of our Artificial and Mechanical Intelligence research unit, you will contribute to the development of modern robotics control and perception planning techniques for the factory floor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement advanced robotics control and perception planning algorithms
  • Collaborate with a multicultural and multi-disciplinary team of engineers and researchers
  • Contribute to the development of the iCub humanoid robot and its applications
  • Work on the iRonCub project, aiming to make the iCub robot fly, and the ergoCub project, a collaboration with INAIL for human-robot collaboration
Requirements
  • Master's degree in robotics engineering, computer science, control engineering, or related fields
  • Good communication skills and ability to cooperate
  • Creative, proactive, and collaborative attitude
  • Proficient in English language (written and oral)
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, or MATLAB
  • Experience in control or motion planning of robots
  • Experience with computer vision and depth sensors
  • Experience in industrial robotics software
  • Strong problem-solving attitude
  • High motivation to learn
  • Spirit of innovation and creativity
  • Good time and priority management
  • Ability to work in a challenging and international environment
