Job Title: Gender and Publications Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Gender and Publications Specialist to join our team at UNESCO. The successful candidate will be responsible for revising and proofreading translated documents, ensuring consistency and accuracy in translation, and verifying the correct use of water- and gender-related terminology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Revising and proofreading translated documents, including the United Nations World Water Development Report 2025 and its executive summary, facts and figures, and bibliography.
  • Ensuring consistency and accuracy in translation, including verifying the correct use of water- and gender-related terminology.
  • Collaborating with the WWAP Secretariat to revise and edit the bibliography of the UN WWDR 2026 and the plurilingual glossary on water and gender terminology.
  • Supporting the development of a tailored capacity development programme on water and gender for Central Asia.
  • Translating training modules to Russian as required.

Requirements:

  • Advanced university degree (Master level) in languages, linguistics, literature, or a relevant field.
  • Experience in revising and proofreading documents and text intended for publications on environmental affairs, gender-related topics, and water resources in Spanish, Russian, and Italian within the UN context.
  • Good knowledge of scientific and gender-related lexicons.
  • Excellent grammatical knowledge in Spanish, Russian, and Italian, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Good written and oral English.
  • Knowledge of the UN (and specifically UNESCO) style guides.
