Water and Gender Expert

UNESCO is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gender and Publications Consultant to support the World Water Assessment Programme (WWAP) in revising and proofreading translated documents and publications.
Key Responsibilities:- Revising and proofreading translated versions of the United Nations World Water Development Report 2025 in Italian, Spanish, and Russian;
- Ensuring consistency in translation and referencing, verifying accuracy of translation, and clarifying meaning where necessary;
- Assisting in the implementation of the capacity development programme in the Latin America and Central Asia regions, including translation of briefs, PPTs, and scripts;
- Supporting the development of a tailored capacity development programme on water and gender for Central Asia;
- Participating in the implementation of workshops and training programs, including translation of training modules to Russian as required.
- Advanced university degree in languages, linguistics, literature, or a relevant field;
- Experience in revising and proofreading documents and text intended for publications on environmental affairs, gender-related topics, and water resources in Spanish, Russian, and Italian within the UN context;
- Excellent grammatical knowledge in Spanish, Russian, and Italian, with good written and oral English;
- Knowledge of the UN style guides and good organizational, networking, and partnership building skills.
As a Gender and Publications Consultant, you will be working closely with the WWAP Secretariat and other stakeholders to achieve the programme's goals. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of high-quality publications and reports, and to support the capacity development of individuals and organizations in the region.
