About the Job:


The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations is seeking a Climate Change and Agriculture Specialist to support its Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific. The successful candidate will assist in analysing climate-related risks and opportunities in the agriculture sector, involving various stakeholders in a tailored foresight planning process.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Support the preparation of national participatory, agriculture and climate foresight and climate-smart options assessments for participating countries
  • Assist with the organization and implementation of Foresight Workshops, as well as the related reports
  • Collaborate with the Climate Foresight and Scenarios Development Specialist to develop parts of the Regional Multi-Stakeholder Consultation Report

Requirements:



  • University degree in climate change, land use management, agricultural economics, development economics, project management and business administration, or a related topic
  • At least five years of relevant experience in policy advice and analysis relating to foresight and scenario development
  • Working knowledge of English and limited knowledge of one of the other FAO official languages
