Job Opportunity: Power Operations Forecasting & Energy Market Junior

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our Power Generation & Marketing team as a Power Operations Forecasting & Energy Market Junior. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our short-term portfolio of power assets, ensuring we are well-positioned to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive market analysis and forecasting strategy to inform our short-term portfolio management decisions
  • Collaborate with our trading and commercial teams to develop and execute a robust trading strategy that maximizes returns and minimizes risk
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activity, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and threats
  • Develop and maintain complex models and algorithms to optimize our short-term portfolio and trading decisions
  • Provide regular market updates and insights to our senior management team and other stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new business initiatives and projects

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in a quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, engineering, statistics, or economics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a trading or commercial role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work with complex data sets and models
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and at least one programming language (e.g. Python, R, SQL)
