Job Description

Job Summary

The Quality Management Professional will lead the entire quality function and be a part of the business's management team at HITACHI ENERGY ITALY S.P.A. This role requires a strong background in quality management, program and project management, with a proven track record of implementing and maintaining quality systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assure quality of all products and services, providing final authority on disposition of non-conforming material and product shipped to customers and received from suppliers.
  • Assure compliance with all external and internal regulations, specifications, and standard work.
  • Implement, audit, consistently apply, and sustain the local Quality Management System, suggesting system improvements as needed.
  • Focus management on key metrics and actions based on those metrics across the organization, ensuring effective tracking of operational performance.
  • Report on quality metrics from a unit perspective, analyze key organizational quality metrics, and perform periodic reviews to evaluate results and establish action plans to close gaps.
  • Lead Mission Control for the quality function and actively participate in internal and external audits, following up on actions.
  • Monitor and improve product and process efficiency by providing an independent audit function.
  • Oversee and timely allocate quality resources for Quality Operations and drive the CAPA process with all functions involved.
  • Develop quality and related personnel aligned with the LOM, maintaining a Succession Plan.
  • Influence business bottom-line results by quality process improvement, maintaining the Quality department budget and controlling related expenses and investments.

Requirements

  • Possess operational and quality systems experience and skills, including the demonstrated ability to design and track quality and regulatory relevant processes and metrics for all areas involved in the production and delivery of products and services in a fast-paced lean environment and under pressure.
  • Proficient in contemporary Quality Assurance tools, manufacturing processes, Lean implementation, and project management and planning tools.
  • Utilize, interpret, and apply problem-solving techniques, process improvement tools, statistical and sampling techniques, Process Capability, and Measurement System Analysis.
  • Provide expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools and methods to all functions of the organization to support their continuous improvement activities.
  • Professional in both customer and supplier interaction, with excellent interpersonal skills, a mentor, team player, and builder.
  • A team-oriented and proactive change agent with a true hands-on and collaborative approach in implementing and maintaining operating disciplines.
  • A confident professional able to proactively resolve issues and challenge assumptions.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering discipline or related discipline.
  • > 10 years of experience in various functions of quality management, program and project management.
  • > 3 years leadership experience and talent development.
  • Ability to travel ~ 20% (domestic and international).
  • Experience in quality management, operations, lean manufacturing processes, and visual management.
  • ASQ Certification for Certified Quality Manager is preferred.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt mandatory, Black Belt preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Italian language, verbally and written.
