Job Summary:

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Health Scientist to join our team. As a Health Scientist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing public health programs and conducting scientific research to improve the health and well-being of the nation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct scientific research and analysis to identify and address public health issues and their impact on the community.
  • Develop and implement public health programs and policies to promote health and prevent disease.
  • Collaborate with other agencies, organizations, and stakeholders to advance public health goals and objectives.
  • Provide scientific leadership and guidance to program staff and other stakeholders.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support public health programs and research initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Master's or doctoral degree in a field related to public health, health sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in public health research, program development, and implementation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.

Working Conditions:

This position may require travel to domestic and international locations, as well as working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. The selected candidate will be required to obtain security and medical clearances before being cleared to report to the duty station.
