Unlock Your Potential as an Operations Research Scientist

Siemens Mobility S.r.l. is seeking a talented Operations Research Scientist to join our Centre of Competence for Optimization in Rome. As a key member of our team, you will contribute to the design and development of advanced optimization models and algorithms to enhance our planning software and drive innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of optimization models to enhance Siemens Mobility's planning software.
  • Employ mathematical programming software tools to devise solutions.
  • Collaborate with senior staff and multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and objectives.
  • Analyze data and take part in workshops to support the development of novel optimization approaches.
  • Stay ahead of the latest research and trends in optimization and operations research.
  • Actively seek ways to improve models, algorithms, and processes.
  • Engage in international projects and collaborate with teams from various countries.
Requirements:
  • You have less than 30 years of age, in accordance with the Italian apprenticeship contract.
  • Recent PhD or PhD candidate nearing completion in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields with a thesis focused on optimization. Candidates with Master's degree candidates may also be considered.
  • Strong foundation in mathematical programming and familiarity with optimization software tools (e.g., CPLEX, Gurobi, etc).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate complex ideas clearly.
  • Programming skills in language of choice (Python, Java, C++ etc)
  • Proficiency in English and Italian.
  • Team player ability, strong communication & interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work in a changing environment.
  • Passion to never-stop growing.
  • Respect and appreciation of each person's uniqueness, willingness to co-create and share knowledge.
  • Eligibility to work in Italy.
