Job Summary

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Health Scientist to join our team. As a Health Scientist, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing public health programs and conducting scientific research to improve health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct scientific research and analysis to inform public health policy and program development
  • Develop and implement public health programs and interventions to address health disparities and improve health outcomes
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, healthcare providers, and community organizations, to advance public health goals
  • Provide technical assistance and support to state and local health departments to improve their capacity to address public health issues
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research and best practices in public health and apply this knowledge to inform program development and implementation
Requirements
  • Master's or doctoral degree in a field related to public health, such as epidemiology, health education, or health policy
  • At least 2 years of experience in public health research, program development, or implementation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect and analyze data to inform program development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to collaboration and partnership-building
Working Conditions

This position may require travel to domestic and international locations, as well as occasional work outside of regular business hours. The selected candidate will be required to obtain a security clearance and undergo a background investigation.
