Job Summary

The Department of Health and Human Services is seeking a highly skilled Public Health Program Manager to join our team. As a key member of our global health team, you will be responsible for providing management and operational assistance to public health programs operating overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide management and operational guidance to public health programs operating overseas
  • Analyze data and interpret complex legislative, regulatory, and/or policy guidance for use in managing public health programs
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans for meeting overseas objectives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with international organizations to collaborate and facilitate the development and integration of public health program initiatives and activities
Requirements
  • US Citizenship required
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • May be subject to a Background Investigation
  • May be required to obtain a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
Qualifications
  • GS-13: To qualify at the GS-13 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, which must include the following experience: providing management and operational assistance or technical advice in the management and implementation of public health programs
  • GS-14: To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, which must include the following experience: providing management and operational guidance or technical advice while managing public health programs
Additional Information
  • Initial assignment may be to a designated domestic location until all overseas credentials and requirements have been completed
  • Selectees will temporarily remain in a different location, whether domestic or international, from the specific advertised position location while completing the required training, security and medical clearances
  • Once cleared, the selectee will relocate to the overseas location for up to but Not to Exceed (NTE) two to three years/HHS tours for a maximum of 6 consecutive years in one designated location as determined by the selecting official
