Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Advisor to join our team at the Department of Health and Human Services. As a Public Health Advisor, you will play a critical role in providing management and operational assistance to public health programs overseas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide management and operational guidance to public health programs overseas
  • Analyze data and interpret complex legislative, regulatory, and policy guidance
  • Develop and implement strategies and plans for meeting overseas objectives
  • Establish and maintain relationships with international organizations
Requirements
  • US Citizenship required
  • Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service
  • May be subject to a Background Investigation
  • May be required to obtain a Secret or Top-Secret Clearance
Qualifications
  • GS-13: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, including experience providing management and operational assistance or technical advice in the management and implementation of public health programs
  • GS-14: At least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the next lower grade level, including experience providing management and operational guidance or technical advice while managing public health programs
What We Offer

  • Annual Leave for non-federal service may be authorized
  • Travel and transportation expenses for Temporary Duty Assignments (TDY) may be paid
  • PCS Expenses are authorized, subject to the terms of the Joint Travel Regulation (JTR)
Overseas Assignments
  • Immunizations are required and will be administered by the CDC before relocating overseas
  • Selectee will need to obtain security and medical clearances before being cleared to report to the overseas duty station

Please note that the inability to secure the clearances necessary for overseas duty will result in termination of the appointment to the position.
