Procurement Specialist

We are seeking a committed and motivated Procurement Specialist to join our organization. This role is essential for ensuring effective management of procurement processes across multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supplier Evaluation: Conduct thorough research to identify and assess potential suppliers for materials and technical components, focusing on quality, pricing, and compliance with company standards.
- Contract Management: Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, including pricing, delivery schedules, and payment arrangements to secure optimal value for the organization.
- Order Processing: Manage the issuance of purchase orders for necessary materials and components, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and timely delivery.
- Supplier Performance Assessment: Continuously monitor and evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, delivery timelines, and adherence to specifications, addressing any issues that arise.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to guarantee that procured materials meet technical and operational requirements.
- Market Analysis: Analyze market trends and material costs to identify opportunities for cost reduction and enhance overall procurement efficiency.
- Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all materials and components purchased meet relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to refine procurement processes and introduce innovative technologies or materials to enhance production efficiency and quality.
- Cross-Functional Projects: Engage with various teams to implement cost-saving initiatives that extend beyond standard procurement practices.
- Category Team Support: Assist in the development of global strategies and the drafting of contracts.
Qualifications
- Degree in industrial engineering, economics, or a related field.
- No prior experience necessary, but a strong interest in procurement is essential.
- Proficient negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
- Ability to cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships, evaluate performance, and address issues effectively.
- Strong analytical skills to assess material costs and identify savings opportunities.
- Organizational skills to plan procurement activities ensuring timely availability of materials.
- Problem-solving skills to swiftly address technical and logistical challenges.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with suppliers and internal teams.
- Collaborative mindset to work with engineering, production, and quality departments.
- Familiarity with enterprise management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is advantageous.
- Proficient in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office).
- Fluent in both written and spoken English and Italian for effective communication with international suppliers.
- Adaptability to changing circumstances and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Capacity to perform under pressure and handle challenging situations.
