Hitachi Rail is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Technology Management to join our team in Taipei, Taiwan. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful design and implementation of complex projects, including signalling and E&M turnkeys, within the Asia region.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and coordinate multi-disciplinary design teams, setting project goals, defining timelines, and allocating resources.
- Liaise and interact with central engineering function departments, including technical troubleshooting, engineering budgeting, and resource coordination.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, requiring excellent organization and prioritization skills.
- Monitor and report project progress, keeping stakeholders informed about milestones achieved and potential challenges.
- Manage project technical risks and contingencies, proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and ensuring designs meet their expectations.
- Negotiate technical aspects of contracts and agreements, including project scope, fees, and timelines.
- Deep understanding of railway systems, including train control, signalling, communications, power supply, and track infrastructure.
- Staying up-to-date with industry standards and regulations, ensuring designs comply with the latest changes.
- Ability to interpret complex technical specifications and translate them into practical design solutions.
- Troubleshooting technical problems and providing solutions, ensuring project progress continues.
- Contributing to business development efforts, identifying new project opportunities and securing funding.
- Staying abreast of new technologies and innovations in the railway industry, continuously seeking ways to improve design and efficiency.
- 10-15 years of experience in a similar business market.
- Engineering Bachelor or Masters degree.
