Job Title: Director, Administrative Services Division

Join the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) as a Director, Administrative Services Division, and contribute to eradicating rural poverty and hunger.

About the Role

The Director, Administrative Services Division, is responsible for leading and managing the division's global operational services, including procurement, insurance, asset management, facilities, records management, security, and privileges, immunities, travel, and visa services.

The incumbent will oversee staff working in headquarters and other duty stations, ensuring that all IFAD duty stations operate efficiently, regardless of their geographical context.

The Director, Administrative Services Division, will focus on enabling operational effectiveness while ensuring duty of care for IFAD's workforce through delivering comprehensive global management services and utilizing innovative solutions to boost operational efficiency and minimize costs, in alignment with the United Nations Reform.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent IFAD in various networks, including the Issues Management Group, Interagency Facility Management Network, and High-Level Committee on Management Procurement Network.
  • Participate in UN Efficiency initiatives, such as the Business Operations Strategy, Common Back Office, and Common Premises.
  • Chair the Operational Risk and Compliance Committee.
  • Serve as a member of various corporate task forces.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least twelve years of progressively responsible and relevant professional experience in technically related areas of operations.

Five years' experience in a national or international organization providing global support is required.

A track record in managing or overseeing corporate administrative services in a decentralized organization is necessary.

Demonstrated experience and ability at leading and managing multicultural teams is required.

Experience working in more than one of the regions of IFAD operations is preferred.

Proficiency in main enterprise resource management and related ERP systems and applications relevant to the field of specialization is required.

Strong network among UN agencies and/or multilateral development financial institutions is preferred.

Language Requirements

Excellent English language skills are required.

Desirable languages include French, Spanish, or Arabic.

Representatives or alternate representatives of Member States on the IFAD Executive Board, Governors or alternate governors to the IFAD Governing Council, and other Member States Permanent Representatives and their Alternates to IFAD may apply for or take up any type of employment with IFAD only after a twelve-month period has elapsed after the effective date of cessation of their IFAD Member States Representatives responsibilities as established in the notification of termination of functions communicated through the official channels.
