Job Overview


As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be an important member of our facilities team, responsible for ensuring the seamless operation of our data centers. You will work closely with our team of electrical and mechanical engineers to perform maintenance and repair tasks on our critical infrastructure, including UPSs, PDUs, Diesel Generators, ATS equipment, and Building Controls.


Key Responsibilities



  • Ensure the completion of maintenance activities to the highest quality level, with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency
  • Ensure the full reliability of our infrastructures, with a focus on continuity of services, energy efficiency, and budgetary constraints
  • Use our BMS (Building Management System) and other available systems to monitor and maintain our facilities
  • Participate in the drafting of the preventive maintenance schedule for our site infrastructures and implement it in collaboration with all service providers concerned
  • Monitor the capacities of our infrastructure equipment and report back to the Site Manager
  • Anticipate the impact of future development on our infrastructures and implement warning thresholds and technical solutions to reinforce them
  • Carry out infrastructure reinforcement analysis, utilizing studies, quotations for implementation, project schedule, risk analysis, operating instructions, etc.
  • Participate with the construction team in site construction phases, including commissioning, and ensure service continuity to our customers
  • Actively contribute to all improvement actions in our site PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness)
  • Proactively raise awareness of the need to increase the power level that is contractually agreed upon with our energy provider
  • Develop energy quality indicators for our infrastructures, keeping appropriate records

Requirements


We are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Critical Facilities Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a technical background in one of the following fields: electricity, air conditioning, fire and physical safety, or centralized building management systems. Experience in data center operations or similar mission-critical environments is highly desirable.


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate knowledge in operating, maintaining, repairing, inspecting, and testing critical electrical distribution systems, HVAC systems, and building management/automation equipment. They will also have technical versatility, supervision of Level II, III, and IV maintenance work, and reactivation of circuit breakers in low-voltage electrical equipment.


In addition, the ideal candidate will have good communication skills with third parties and internal customers, a proactive approach, and the capacity to generate new ideas. They will also be highly motivated at problem-solving, have attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to following up on actions.
