Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Critical Facilities Technician to join our team. As a Critical Facilities Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our data center infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, building management systems, and other critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on data center equipment and systems, including electrical and mechanical systems, building management systems, and other critical systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure the reliability and efficiency of data center equipment and systems.
- Collaborate with the facilities team to develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Monitor and report on data center performance metrics, including power usage effectiveness (PUE) and other key performance indicators.
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed.
- Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in data center operations and maintenance.
Requirements
- Technical training (advanced technician or engineer level) in one of the following fields: electricity, air conditioning, fire and physical safety and security, or centralized building management systems.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in data center operations or a similar mission-critical environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, building management systems, and other critical systems.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
