About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Legal Counsel to join our team at SWIFT. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a critical role in supporting our procurement activities and providing sound legal advice to ensure compliance with legal requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan and execute legal activities of large complexity to provide company-wide sound legal advice and counsel.
  2. Provide legal support in new projects by undertaking research on specific legal problems and offering opinions and counsel.
  3. Draft, review, and recommend company contracts, participate in negotiations, and recommend amendments to contracts worldwide.
  4. Set standards for company contracts and draft and review legal policies and procedures.
  5. Coordinate and follow up worldwide litigation with management, staff, and lawyers to ensure the best possible settlement.
  6. Liaise with management and staff, customers, suppliers, lawyers, and public administrations.
  7. Coordinate administrative tasks within the department and be an effective back-up for the manager and colleagues.
  8. Maintain and develop your understanding of evolutions in relevant areas of the law, including commercial and competition laws, licensing issues, and telecommunication matters.
  9. Drive and assist less senior counsel in performing tasks and review the work of outside counsels.
  10. Manage a risk area and control framework on a project basis and understand the corporate strategic risk footprint.
