Director, Network and Security

At Allucent, we are dedicated to helping small-medium biopharmaceutical companies navigate the complex world of clinical trials to bring life-changing therapies to patients in need across the globe.

We are seeking a Director, Network and Security to oversee and manage the company's network infrastructure and cybersecurity operations.

This role requires a strategic leader with a comprehensive understanding of network systems and cybersecurity practices. The ideal candidate will be adept at both technical problem-solving and strategic planning, with a track record of managing teams and projects effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Management:
  • Design, implement, and maintain the company's network infrastructure, including local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and cloud-based SASE solutions.
  • Monitor network performance and implement improvements to ensure high availability, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Address and resolve network issues and outages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Cybersecurity Oversight:
  • Create and execute a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy to protect Allucent assets and data from threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of security technologies such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Lead and manage responses to security incidents, including identification, containment, eradication, and recovery efforts.
  • Team Leadership:
  • Lead and mentor the network and cybersecurity teams, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
  • Promote collaboration between network and cybersecurity teams and internal stakeholders and external partners and other third-party entities as needed.
  • Policy and Compliance:
  • Establish and enforce network and cybersecurity policies, procedures, and best practices in line with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Vendor and Budget Management:
  • Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, ensuring their solutions meet company security and performance requirements.
  • Strategic Planning and Reporting:
  • Lead the creation of network and security designs as part of the company's strategic planning for a global cybersecurity program.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders on network performance, security posture, and ongoing projects.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in network engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications (, CCNP, CISSP, CISM) preferred.
  • Experience: 5-10 years of experience in network management and cybersecurity, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership or managerial role.
  • Technical Skills: Extensive knowledge of network infrastructure, security frameworks, risk management, and incident response.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven experience in leading teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving abilities with a strategic mindset for both network and cybersecurity challenges.
  • Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with industry regulations and standards such as GDPR, GxP, and NIST. Experience with regulatory compliance, including risk management frameworks (, NIST CSF/RMF, ISO2700x/31000)
  • Project Management: Experience in managing projects, budgets, and vendor relationships related to network and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Other: Security or Risk-related certifications such as CISSP, CRISC, CISM, CISSP, CISA, etc. - AWS and Azure cloud security and infrastructure, Software as a Service (SaaS) applications, DAST/SAST Security tools
