Job Title: STEM IT Leader

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled STEM IT Leader to join our team at Prysmian Group. As a key member of our R&D department, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers focused on the design of new power cable accessories.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the design of new power cable accessories.
  • Contribute to the long-term vision of R&D development through strong synergy with Prysmian Group.
  • Identify technical solutions to given problems or market opportunities.
  • Conduct research projects on new products, including components, equipment, systems, and processes.
  • Carry out product development projects at different stages, from feasibility studies to official qualifications.
  • Coordinate with Operations, Engineering, and other R&D functions for project development and activities.
  • Internal and external product benchmarking.
  • Define design rules and provide guidelines for product manufacturing.
  • Support Quality Dept. in identifying technical solutions to given issues and corrective actions.
  • Continuously improve materials and products.
  • Anticipate market evolution, materials, processes, and regulations.
  • Verify and/or validate product conformity regarding standards requirements and/or customer specifications.
  • Establish and guarantee the maintenance of identification dossiers for key customers.
  • Ensure the role of advice and expertise with Engineering teams.

    Requirements:

    • Materials (metallurgy, compounds, thermal ratings).
    • Technology (product, machinery, and manufacturing process).
    • Tests (magnetism, electrical, mechanical).
    • Product development and innovation.
    • Design to Cost.
    • Analytical and problem-solving ability.
    • Planning and project management skills.
    • Persistence and ability to influence others.
    • Positive attitude to lead and motivate the team.
    • Strategic approach to work.
    • Installation basics (HV system design, electromagnetic fields).
    • Standardization.

    IT Systems:

    • CAD tools.
    • FEM Analysis.

    Languages:

    • Good knowledge of English.

    Education and Experience:

    • Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics, Physics, Energy), Physics degree.
    • Experience either in the cable/accessories industry or in another energy business (at least 5 years).
