Job Title: Psychiatric Technician- Mcleod Health

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Psychiatric Technician to join our team at Mcleod Health. As a Psychiatric Technician, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a professional image and exhibit excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and coworkers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.
  • Recognize the normal signs (growth and development of aging) of the patient population and understand the requirements of assessment, treatment, and care of the specific age group(s).
  • Initiate and maintain the hygiene/cleanliness of the patients, the patient's environment, and the unit environment.
  • Conduct patient safety rounds as indicated by level of acuity, using Service Excellence Standards to promote a comfortable and safe environment for patients and visitors.
  • Perform or assist with performing nutritional/hydration interventions (feeding, providing fluids, H20 or snacks).
  • Identify and communicate appropriate patient data to members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Collect and record patient-related data through the performance of direct care tasks.
  • Demonstrate continued professional growth through setting goals and participating in Evidence-Based tasks.
  • Utilize appropriate health and safety to protect both the patient and staff.
  • Foster an environment that demonstrates caring, compassion, and respect for all patients, families, and visitors.
  • Perform general transportation and courier duties as directed.

Requirements:

  • Zero to less than 1 year of work-related experience
  • Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
