The Head of Marketing will be responsible for developing and implementing the Marketing strategy for Content Distribution within the Italian territory. This role will focus on working alongside commercial leads and the Country Manager to create and execute Marketing and Branding strategies that optimize feature film and TV series product across all distribution windows and formats.

This position will play a key part in setting a clear strategic direction for Marketing in the territory and supporting the Italian team in key commercial priorities and new growth opportunities. The role will be based in our Milan office and will cover a maternity leave for an 8-month period, starting September 2024-April 2025.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Marketing strategy across Home Entertainment and TV Distribution, maximizing opportunities across the region through innovative Marketing activity.
  • Be the key point of contact for the VP Marketing Western Europe, providing clear and consistent territory information and communication that aligns with regional strategy.
  • Maintain full P&L ownership and oversee Marketing budget across all lines of business.
  • Define the studio's annual feature film and TV series Marketing and product release strategy for all commercial exploitations outside the theatrical window, incorporating all key marketing disciplines – ATL, BTL, PR, social activation.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Marketing Executive.
  • Act as a close business partner for all TV distribution clients in territory, positioning Sony as the go-to partner for close collaboration.
  • Determine and manage the efficient timely delivery and approval of promotional assets to and from broadcast and EST partners in market.
  • Work alongside the Head of Digital to share and facilitate information and assets from theatrical distribution partner Eagle Pictures in the region.
  • Develop and execute publicity and promotional campaigns across the product slate, ensuring close collaboration with the SPT PR team to deliver seamless broadcast campaigns for SPT's key shows within the territory.
  • Deliver trade presentations, pre-sales events, customer events, and internal showcases and events to ensure a consistent and positive message both internally and externally.
  • Help deliver on each territory's One Sony activities, working alongside Electronics, PlayStation, and Music to maximize combined reach as a consumer-facing company.
  • Maintain high levels of knowledge of technological developments to ensure all marketing activities are fully maximized.
  • Continually evaluate the need for Research, working closely with local Research Executive/Central Research team – understand how to use and interrogate data to enable the most effective pitches and partnerships with clients.
  • Drive and implement regionally supported strategies, including product strategy, library focus, Digital Acceleration Project, and AVOD Audience Networks.

Requirements:

  • Typically, 6+ years of experience in strategic Marketing, preferably in the entertainment sector.
  • Experience within the Italian market place is essential.
  • Proven track record in delivering creative, innovative, and commercial marketing campaigns in a complex multi-faceted organization or environment.
  • Demonstrated success in devising and executing strategic marketing objectives and cascading these objectives and ways of working.
  • Business-minded, commercially focused, and able to understand business plans and control budgets.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects in a dynamic/changing environment and seeing those projects through to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills required and ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
  • Creative and innovative in approach.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate, and persuade others.
  • Self-motivated team player and facilitator.
  • Fluent Italian and English is required.
  • Availability to travel within Italy and abroad as necessary.
