Our platforms range from immediate threat detection to extensive protection across the entire operational environment, including Airspace Mobility Solutions, Tactical Systems, and Missile Defense.

The Gorgonzola site is home to the Navigation Air Systems (NAS) domain, focusing on avionics, navigation, and radar systems for civil air traffic, as well as technologies that support civilian and military pilots, air traffic controllers, and technicians globally. Italy serves as the Group's Competence Center for the design, production, and delivery of Navigation Aids and non-Radar Surveillance Products.

Key Responsibilities:

The role involves planning, organizing, controlling, and monitoring activities and resources to ensure successful completion of development work packages, while effectively managing risks and leveraging opportunities.

Collaboration is key, and you will work closely with:

  • Product Engineering Delivery Managers (EDM) overseeing engineering activities per product
  • External Program Managers (PM) managing contracts for product evolutions
  • Engineering Heads of Disciplines (HoD) who supervise engineering resources
  • Product Line Managers (PLM) who represent internal customer needs
  • Engineering cost estimate engineers providing validated quotations and cost models

Main Activities:

  • Define the Organization Breakdown Structure (OBS) and Work Package descriptions based on the delivery-oriented Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) derived from the Product Breakdown Structure (PBS), including key milestones.
  • Regularly identify, manage, and monitor risks and opportunities to control the Estimate at Completion (EAC).
  • Conduct periodic progress meetings with the engineering team to visualize work progress and decision-making processes, analyze metrics, and proactively manage schedules.
  • Share the Engineering project dashboard with Project Managers and HoD, highlighting progress against forecasts, relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and resource needs.
  • Utilize engineering data (metrics and KPIs) in collaboration with cost estimate engineers to enhance predictability.
  • Implement a continuous improvement strategy within development, focusing on target setting, retrospectives, root cause analysis, action identification, and results measurement to boost efficiency.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in Program or Work Package management within development activities, demonstrating proficiency in PERT and GANTT methodologies, resource allocation, and risk management tools.

Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills are essential to ensure team commitment to work package outcomes. Experience in engineering development processes, including agile methodologies, earned value management, and Lean approaches, is highly desirable.

Languages:

Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required.
