Job Description

CHEP is a global leader in the supply chain and logistics industry, with a presence in over 55 countries and a network of 300 million pallets, crates, and containers. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plant Operations Manager to join our team in Italy.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing the network of subcontracted service centers, on-site solutions, and outstores/hubs in Italy. This will involve:

  • Managing the start-up and ramp-up of new plants, on-site solutions, and outstores
  • Contributing to the definition and implementation of projects such as IT and engineering, as well as continuous improvement initiatives to support improvement programs in capacity, productivity, cost, quality, and service
  • Leading, contributing to, or supporting regional or European SC projects
  • Negotiating tariffs with subcontractors, with support from Senior Manager and cost optimization
  • Cost control and budget monitoring in connection with cost optimization
  • Analysis and recommendations for cost optimization in terms of cost drivers and entitlement standards
  • Managing stock variances through stock counts and analysis

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, management, logistics, or technical engineering
  • 5-7 years of experience in management, subcontractor management, or site management
  • Strong experience in Lean and continuous improvement
  • Fluent/native Italian and English
