Engineering and Maintenance Director Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering and Maintenance Director to lead our team in Milan.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Management: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance programs for all engineering systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Schedule and supervise preventive maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance services as needed.
  • Facility Management: Conduct regular inspections to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with safety and building codes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the engineering and maintenance team, providing guidance, training, and support as necessary.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and foster a collaborative work environment to achieve departmental goals.
  • Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop annual maintenance budgets and monitor expenditures to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Identify opportunities for cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or safety standards.
  • Project Management: Plan and execute capital improvement projects, renovations, and upgrades to enhance facility infrastructure and operational efficiency.
  • Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources in collaboration with other departments and stakeholders.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to engineering and maintenance operations.
  • Implement and maintain safety protocols and procedures to minimize workplace hazards and promote a safe working environment.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventories, and service contracts.
  • Prepare regular reports on key performance indicators, maintenance metrics, and project status updates for management review.
  • Qualifications: Proven experience in engineering and maintenance management, preferably in the hospitality industry. Strong technical knowledge of building systems and equipment. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage a diverse team. Proficiency in budgeting, project management, and facility maintenance software. Familiarity with regulatory requirements and best practices in facility management and safety. Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
